LEAF REMOVAL
DEARBORN HEIGHTS: Residents are asked to not sweep leaves into the street for collection. Residents are asked to place yard wastes in properly marked brown paper yard-waste bags or garbage cans marked “yard waste” separate from trash, about 10 feet away. Tree limbs and shrubs must be tied in bundles of four feet or less, weighing no more than 50 pounds. Pickup is provided April 3-Dec. 3.
DEARBORN: The city has no ordinances covering removal of leaves. The city requests property owners to bag the leaves and put them out in yard waste paper bags or containers with a “yard waste” sticker on them with the rest of the refuse on their normal trash pick-up day. The city will make at least four leaf sweeps through the city where residents may sweep their leaves into the street for cleanup by the city. The cleanup will run from mid-October to the end of November. Pickup day information will be sent to residents and be carried on the cable local access channels. Updated information can also be obtained from the Leaf Hotline at 1-313-943-2444.

Under the Nuisances chapter of the City Code, it is unlawful to possess an excessive number of animals, such as cats, due to the public health hazard it could create.
