The Pleasant Hours Club consists of 17 neighborhood units in Dearborn which meet weekly 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at various churches and city-owned facilities for potluck or brown-bag luncheons.
Programs are offered with variety in mind, covering social, recreational, educational and community service activities.
Membership is open to all Dearborn retirees, retired members of churches whose facilities are used for meetings, retired Dearborn taxpayers and members who move from Dearborn. Prospective members are accorded full membership after attending three meetings.
Although there are no dues or special assessments, a small treasury is maintained by each unit from voluntary contributions. The money is used to cover the cost of coffee and tea for the weekly potluck luncheons, as well as for cards to send to members who are ill.
